Episode Recap - "Jughead"

I need to watch this again...

Jughead

Sarah came up with a great theory about the woman who had the gun pointed at Faraday in 1954... She's his mom. My mom said that she thinks Charles Widmore and Faraday's mom get a little biz-ay in 1954 and produced Charlotte... And that Faraday's mom (and Charlotte's mom) is Charlotte's constant. This theory has a lot of holes in it.. to begin with, Charlotte is too young to have been born in 1954. But with time travel, anything is possible, right?

Random observations

Just a quick post about random observations and conversations I've had with people about the show this week..

It's possible that Miles (the guy who talks to dead people) is the son of the Dr from the films.. and the baby in the beginning of "Because you left." If so, it means he was likely born on the island... why else would they bother to show that he had a baby?

Faraday told Sawyer repeatedly that since Desmond hasn't met Sawyer "yet" then it would be impossible for them to meet now.. because you can't "create a new string" etc... So why is Faraday able to meet Desmond?.. and isn't Faraday trying to "create a new string" by telling Desmond to change the future by going to Oxford?

If Desmond is able to change the future, meaning that Faraday changed the future by telling Desmond to go to Oxford, that means it is possible to change the future.. in which case, I predict that Sun will change the future to rescue Jin.

When Ethan confronts Locke in the woods, Ethan seems oblivious to the impending purple flash.. but when Faraday confronts Desmond, Desmond sees the flash coming. Why is this?

We know a little about Faraday's background and (maybe if he is the baby) a little about Miles's.. So what about Charlotte's background? what's the deal with her? Why did Miles suggest that she'd been on the island before?... and why didn't she seem to know what he was talking about?

and last but not least.. Jacob could be Locke... from the future.

I <3 My Shih-tzu

This season, rather than post the entire episode recap, I'm going to provide links to the abc episode recaps.

The Lie
Because You Left

My favorite line from last night wasn't even from the show.. it was from Sarah, "C'mon man! It took me like 10 years just to understand Back to the Future!"

I know it's still early in the season, but does anyone have any thoughts?

Paradise LOST

TODAY, I think that maybe Lost is an allegory to The book of Genesis; based on my memory of the epic poem Paradise Lost by John Milton and my knowledge on the books of Genesis.

Some quick thoughts (I'll be back to post more after I get these out...):

*In Lost ,the skeletons found in the cave were nick-named "adam & eve" and they were wearing clothing. Adam & Eve wore clothing after they ate the fruit. That is how God know they ate it, because they were ashamed of being naked.

*God said that once people eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good & Evil, then they would die. Not instantly, but that there immortality would be taken away. Richard Alpert appears to be immortal, since he doesn't age. Was he hanging out with A&E back in the day somehow?

*When you eat from the tree, you will be like God & know the difference between good & evil. The characters in Lost are constantly judging people as good/bad. BUT-there is really no clear indication of who/what is Good or Bad.

*In Paradise Lost, Adam & Eve had a 'tangible' relationship with God (God was a person who they could see), but after they ate the fruit, God became invisible. In Lost, some people have 'visions' that are invisible to others.

*Cain & Able, the sons of Adam & Eve could be represented by the rivalry between Benjamin Linus & Charles Widmore.

* The curse God put on Eve after she ate the fruit from the forbidden tree was to suffer terribly through childbirth. On the Island, women die when giving birth.

The frustrating thing to me is that one day this show is very clearly a parallel to the "Wizard of Oz" and the next day , I'm digging biblical references from my brain. AND THEY BOTH MAKE PERFECT SENSE!
